FAQs

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions from our customers .

"Can you weld Aluminium"

Yes we can and also a wide range of materials here in our workshop or on site including Stainless Steel and Ferrous Steels.

"What type of welding can you do"

We can provide the following welding processes.

MIG/MAG  (Metal Inert Gas/ Metal Active Gas). Using a filler wire and a shielding gas such as Argon,CO2 or Helium mix this process is commonly  used in most engineering industry's.

TIG/GTAW (Tungsten Inert Gas/ Gas Tungsten Arc welding). Originally used in the aircraft industry this process uses a filler rod a non consumable tungsten electrode and shielding gas this process is now found in the oil and gas industry, food industry, racing and of course the aircraft industries. mainly used for stainless steel and Aluminium welding.

MMA/SMAW  (Manual Metal Arc/ Sheilded Metal Arc Welding) this is one of the most commonly used welding processes used. it is the processes of using a flux coated filler rod that leaves a protective coating over the weld metal. this reduces the use of shielding gas and is more deployable for onsite welding.

Brazing /Silver soldering  These processes uses a lower temperature below the melting point of the parent material  to join similar or dissimilar materials. mainly used on small bore pipe and where a surface fusion is required.

"Who is your customer"

We provide services to both the commercial industry and the consumer customer, dependent on the requirements we are flexible enough to be able to provide for both streams and give the customer the professional service they deserve. to answer this question in short, all of our customers are important to us.

"Are you able to be mobile"

Yes, if our customer needs us to attend an onsite job we are able to deploy. predominantly we are  workshop  based but we will happily attend an onsite job if needed . Like anything information is key if you need us to be on site and it is not a "fast ball" the better informed we are the better preperared we will be.

"Are you qualified"

Yes all of our welders are fully qualified in their fields. In this day and age it pays to ensure that a skill can be backed up with the right qualifications acreditited by a national body. At the same time trade competence plays a big part in the service we deliver with over two decades of experience we can back up that we are " Qualified and Competent".

"Can you be called out on an emergancy call out "

Although we are not a 24Hr call out service if we get a call and it is somthing we can do , then we will be there. We can deploy a welder to your location within an hour dependent on the location .
